UI/UX ARTIST – UNITY
JOB DESCRIPTION
At Session Games we’re very careful and selective when hiring into our team. We’re looking for a talented UI artist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be working with our UI and Design team to meet visual targets, while also optimizing assets to run at a stable framerate. Having experience with Unity UGUI is strongly preferred.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute all UI visual design in Unity
- Build maintainable, reusable (modular), UI components in Unity
- Take PSD files and process/chop the art over to Unity while maintaining sprite sheets, slice settings and optimal file sizes
- Use Unity to construct and layout screens with an eye for composition/color using established prefabs and templates without extensive guidance
- Perform other general art tasks as needed
- Work closely with Engineers to ensure the UI functions correctly
- Optimize the art and Unity screen setups to maintain a good balance between memory, visual quality, draw calls and overdraw
REQUIREMENTS
- Priority will be given to individuals with proven proficiency in implementing UI art/layout in Unity, regardless of formal work experience
- Experience or Education working with 3D and 2D apps or games
SKILL SET
- Attention to detail and the ability to distill simple solutions from complex problems
- Able to recreate After Effect Animations with Unity’s Timeline/Animation tools or by using custom made animation tools
- Comfortable in creating UI 2D animations in Unity that work with backend requirements
- Detail oriented, organized, and able to effectively analyze project requirements to confidently provide estimates for tasks
- Technical aptitude and a cooperative/collaborative approach to teamwork
- Aware of the latest graphics techniques and optimizations
- A good sense of typography and localization character sets and working knowledge of Text Mesh Pro

SOFTWARE ENGINEER – GENERALIST
JOB DESCRIPTION
Session Games is looking for a full-time programming generalist, with a passion for mobile games. Our ideal candidate is a Unity whiz, and will be working on gameplay, system development, rendering/shaders, and optimization tasks. You want to make a difference on a small team, and bonus if you know the difference between downhill and freeride.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with artists and producers to determine the technical requirements that match project designs
- Write detailed technical designs for new features and systems
- Program systems and features that match the design of the project and work within the technical constraints of the target hardware
- Debug and fix problematic code as it arises during the development process
- Maintain live projects to include new fixes and updates without inconveniencing our active audience
REQUIREMENTS
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years programming experience
- Experience or Education working within the Unity game engine
- Experience debugging on mobile devices
- Completed at least one live game as part of a larger team; including artists, designers, and project managers
