AARON KYRO ANNOUNCES BRAILLE SKATEBOARDING’S FIRST MOBILE GAME –Skateboard Video Tycoon

Finding skateboarding as a kid was super amazing to me and was all I wanted to do. The times when I couldn’t skate I was lucky enough to have skate video games at home to keep the stoke burning. I’m so excited to continue this tradition and add a Braille Skateboarding game into the options for people that share in my passion.
Today, I’m happy to announce the biggest Braille release ever, or maybe it’s the smallest Braille release ever? A mobile game called Skateboard Video Tycoon. This game follows my backstory of starting Braille after my professional skate life fell apart as a means to turn the whole world into skateboarders.
I started Braille because I was dropped by my sponsors in 2006. I had a video part in the bank but nowhere to play it. Thinking my skate life was over, I just posted my part to YouTube with no expectations. Youtube at the time was where skateboard videos went to die.No one, and I mean no one put their footage on YouTube. If you’re any kind of a serious skater at all, you’d save your footage and give it to your sponsor, that was the only place they would go.
The video ended up getting over 250k views within a short period of time. It was so fascinating because all this happened at the lowest point in my life. It did not help my career at all, but what it did give me was hope. It gave me the idea to keep skating and keep pushing.
From there I kept to the point where I was making daily videos on YouTube. I then discovered this global community wanting to learn about skateboarding that was using YouTube to learn how. In that moment, my life mission changed from making a career out of my own skateboarding to finding ways to get the entire world skateboarding. That’s the sole purpose of Braille Skateboarding and also mine.
We did a survey and asked fans how they started skateboarding. One of the main answers that came back was video games. I thought well, if our goal is to get the whole world skateboarding then we’ve got to make a game.
Skateboard Video Tycoon tells this backstory and more. You manage weekly content by posting, collecting views, editing footage and playing in live events. Just like Braille’s real life channels, everything you do in the game counts towards inspiring new skateboarders.
We’re so proud of this game and can’t wait to show you all that‘s in store. The launch is just the beginning, we have so much planned for this game!
